A few weeks ago, I have published my new book. This book presents my view on how to set your mind and body for dealing with anxiety, stress, and personal loss and how to improve your mental health through the benefits of mindfulness meditation. This book’s goal is to help you to create your inner peace, achieve peace of mind in your everyday life better.

It is a part of series of books and describes techniques on how to set your mind and body for dealing with anxiety, stress and personal loss. How to improve mental health.

In this book you can learn about:

  • Buddhist Philosophy Basics
  • Mindfulness Meditation
  • Different Forms of Meditation Practice
  • Mindfulness Meditation in Everyday Life

Here are some thoughts I had written down in this book.

Achieving peace and happiness

Peace and happiness are really what all of us are looking for. On the surface, it seems that you want food, wealth, sex, entertainment, and respect. In the end, it all comes down to peace and happiness.

Then, you can ask, what is happiness?

Is it to have everything you want and to be in control of everything? Think again. Are the people that have control and power truly happy? Well, not more than others. It is not possible to have everything you want. Instead, you can learn to control your mind, to stop being contaminated with desire and aversion. You can learn to recognize desire. You can also learn not to be controlled by it. In no way does this mean that you should lie down and accept everything that happens to you. It just means that you assume a new point of view on everyday life events. By all means, you will change things that you can, but you will also learn to accept those that you cannot.

Look inside yourself

Look carefully inside yourself, truthfully and objectively, and learn to see those moments. Learn to see them without judgment, and you will be able to make radical changes in your everyday life. Then, you will see yourself as you are right now. One must let go of all illusions, judgment, or resistance to change. You will, of course, stay active in society as the social being you are. If you fulfill your duties and obligations to your family and friends, and all fellow human beings and, most importantly, your responsibility to yourself. This is your path to achieving true happiness.

Compassion

As your understanding grows, the more compassionate you can be. You will be ready to forgive and forget and to learn to love by understanding. This behavior is only possible if you understand yourself.

This is not an issue of faith. It is really an issue of confidence and experience. It is made through everyday practice and endurance on the path to discover things as they really are.

An attitude toward material necessities

There are some material necessities that make your life possible. There is no need to refrain from them and become ascetic, but you really need to keep them on a level that will not become excessive.

Food

You should eat food that is food, not just “bait.” Eat food for the proper nourishment of life.

You should wear clothes that fulfill the real meaning and purpose of clothing. Those are good health, protection against annoyances and discomfort, convenience and simplicity, and expression of culture.

Shelter

The shelter should be adequate, modest, and not excessive. Nowadays, many people live in homes that exceed their needs, are very expensive, cause worries, and lead to frustrations. Unfortunately, it seems that housing becomes a source of considerable selfishness.

One of the most important life conditions is medicine, which I think needs no further explanation.

Then there is an indulgence. You can stay a part of the community, and still, have your needs fulfilled with non-material and non-lustful things. Of course, you can be a great person who caves into those from time to time. You just never should hurt others to do so.
